Free drop-in creative workshop for children aged 4 to 12 and their families, part of Black History Season, at the New Art Exchange.
The Saturday Art Club is back at New Art Exchange on Saturday 24 October, with a session that runs as a free, drop-in creative workshop for children aged 4 to 12 and their families. It's led by creative facilitators, and the whole thing is built around hands-on fun, imagination and playful discovery — the kind of morning where the making is the point, rather than any particular finished product.
This particular session forms part of Black History Season, and there'll be different creative activities on the table to try, so you can move between them and pick what takes your fancy. It's a drop-in, which means you don't have to be there from the start to get involved; you can just turn up when it suits you and get stuck in. The focus is on the process of creating, with plenty of room for kids to experiment and play around with the materials on hand.
It's a family affair, too — the workshops are for children and their families, so it's as much about doing it together as it is about the art itself. Just keep in mind that under-14s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, so you'll be right there with them as they work. If you've got little ones who love to make things, it's a good way to spend a Saturday morning without any pressure to produce a masterpiece.
