Public ice skating session at The National Ice Centre, welcoming all ages and abilities, with a free Tots Zone for children aged five and under.
Public Skating is back at The National Ice Centre on Monday 7 June, with sessions running from 10:30 to 21:00. It's set up as a friendly, low-pressure way to spend a day or evening with family and friends, and it's open to all ages and abilities: first-timers and seasoned gliders alike, whether you're coming for a family outing or just some solo practice.
If you're bringing the little ones, there's a dedicated Tots Zone for children aged five and under and their parents, and tots in that age group skate for free. Pushchairs and wheelchairs are also allowed on the rink, so it works for families with very young children or anyone with accessibility needs. For something with a bit more energy, the centre runs disco skating sessions with music and lights.
It's also worth keeping in mind what else happens here. The National Ice Centre is home to skating legends Torvill and Dean, as well as many of Great Britain's bright young skaters and the GB Speed Skating Team, who compete in the Winter Olympics. CBBC's Ice Stars are based here too, and you might catch speed skaters and Ice Stars on the ice during your visit.
