Nottingham's Winter Wonderland brings Christmas magic to Old Market Square with an ice rink, observation wheel, ice bar and Christmas market.
Winter Wonderland returns to Old Market Square from Thursday 12 November to Thursday 31 December 2026, taking over the centre of Nottingham for seven weeks. Entry to the square is free, though the individual attractions are ticketed, so you can wander in and out without spending a penny unless you're actually getting on the ice or heading up the wheel.
At the heart of it is the Ice Rink and the Sky Skate Path, Nottingham's suspended ice trail that carries skaters above the square and the Christmas Market below. The Observation Wheel is back too, giving you a panoramic view across the city. The Ice Bar returns with a brand new theme for 2026, and this is where you'll find the chance to meet Father Christmas. For drinks, there are the ski-themed Sur La Piste and Altitude Ski Bars, with food from Loaded returning this year — a firm favourite with the regulars at Sur La Piste. The Christmas Market fills the square with festive gifts, crafts, food and seasonal treats.

Beyond the ice and the market, there's a live host, live DJs, tribute acts and themed nights running throughout the season. If you're planning to book the Ice Rink or the Observation Wheel, there's a 20% discount for online bookings between 12 November and 11 December, so it's worth sorting your dates early if you're heading in during that first month. The whole thing runs from Thursday 12 November through to Thursday 31 December at Old Market Square, NG1 2BY.
