Screening of the animated film 'Monster Mia', about a girl sent to a school for monsters, at the Savoy Cinema on Derby Road.
Monster Mia is screening at the Savoy Cinema in Lenton, with a run of dates starting this Sunday 25 October. It's an animated feature, 82 minutes long, and carries a BBFC U rating, so it's one for the younger ones and families.
The story follows 12-year-old Mia and her scruffy pet rat, Quentin, who end up at the mysterious Rotwood Academy after getting into a bit too much trouble at school. It doesn't take long for Mia to realise the place isn't like any ordinary school: her classmates are monsters, and the vice principal, Van Vlad, has a particular dislike for humans. Much of the film finds her trying to figure out a way out before the other students realise she isn't a monster like them, and it turns that fish-out-of-water start into a story about belonging and acceptance.
