Stand-up comedy show with Katie Slater and Rachel Page at Canalhouse, presented by NCF Comedy as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival.
Katie Slater and Rachel Page are bringing their show Hitched & Ditched to Canalhouse on Saturday 7 November, as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. It's presented by NCF Comedy, and the two of them share the bill, so you'll get both of them on stage together rather than one after the other.
The whole thing is built around the two of them navigating their thirties, and they've summed up their approach with a line that does a lot of the heavy lifting: they're trying to do it with grace and failing. That's the common ground they're working from, but the comedy comes from how different their lives look on either side of it. One is married, the other can't get past the first date, and they both describe themselves as 'unhinged'.
Their energies are opposites, too. Katie brings the bubbliness of a female football pundit to the stage, while Rachel keeps things chilled. It's that contrast that carries the show — the high-energy punditry meeting the more laid-back side of things, both talking about the same messy decade from very different places. Between the marriage and the first-date struggle, there's plenty of ground for them to pick at.
