Family Christmas pantomime in which Jack sells his cow for beans and outwits an evil giant, with sign language interpretation and a relaxed performance.
Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 28 November, running through to Sunday 3 January. It's a family panto in the Main Auditorium, so it'll be playing right across the Christmas break.
The story is the one you know: Jack sells his trusty cow for a few beans and ends up climbing a beanstalk to outwit an evil giant and win some riches. It's built as a family show, with laughter, music, magical effects and plenty of audience participation, so it's the kind of thing you'd take the kids to over the holidays.
There's a fair bit of name recognition in the cast. Rob Rinder plays the Spirit of the Beans, Samantha Womack is Mrs Blunderbore, and Neil Hurst takes on Simon Trot. Mary Mac is Dame Trot, Matthew Croke plays Jack, and Mia Kobayashi is Princess Jill. Between them, they cover the whole family tree and the magical bits in between.
