Nature-based learning and play sessions for young children in the Secret Walled Garden of Wollaton Park, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Wollaton Tots Secret Garden is running at Wollaton Hall on Tuesday 27 October, part of a wider programme of nature-based learning and play sessions for young children. It's held in the Secret Walled Garden of Wollaton Park, and the whole thing is designed for the little ones to get stuck into the outdoors.
Each session is built around curiosity, creativity and confidence, with hands-on outdoor experiences in a calm, friendly and community-focused environment. The programme usually covers nature exploration, sensory play, campfire experiences, barefoot walking, creative outdoor activities and free play, and it's meant to support children's physical, social and emotional growth. A 2026 review called it a 'brilliant activity for little ones'.
It's not just for the kids, though. There's a free hot drink for adults and a drink and snacks for the children provided during the session. The sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October and November 2026, from 10:30am to 12:00pm, so you can pick the day that works best for you.

It costs £10 per child per session, with one free adult per child and any additional adult £5. Babies aged 0-6 months go free, provided there's a paying child space. You'll meet at the entrance by the green flag pole, near the 508 café and the first car park off Wollaton Road, in the Secret Walled Garden at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park, Nottingham NG8 2AE.
