Beginner-friendly printmaking workshop to make postcard-sized prints from old Tetra Pak cartons, run by Megan Lightfoot of IMARA CIO.
Megan Lightfoot is running an introduction to Tetra Pak printing at the Nottingham Society Of Artists on Wednesday 28 October, from 11 am to 1 pm. It's a two-hour, beginner-friendly printmaking workshop that turns old Tetra Pak drinks cartons into postcard-sized prints. The process is straightforward: you etch your design into the surface with a needle, ink the plate, and run it through a pasta machine acting as a mini printing press. You'll leave with your own prints and a handle on the basics of the technique.
Lightfoot is leading the session on behalf of IMARA CIO, and the workshop is part of the organisation's Charity Art Auction, which raises funds for services supporting Nottingham children and young people affected by sexual and domestic abuse. The session is open to anyone aged 14 and over, and it's run as a pay-what-you-can event with a recommended donation of £10. A fair warning before you sign up: the ink may stain, so wear something you don't mind getting a bit messy.
