Creative workshop in which participants make a postcard addressed to their younger selves, suitable for all ages.
Iggy Studios are running a Postcard to Younger Self workshop at the Nottingham Society of Artists on Tuesday 27 October, from 3:00 to 4:30pm. The premise is simple enough: you'll use pens, paints and paper to make a postcard addressed to your younger self. It's the kind of thing that works as well as a quiet afternoon in as a proper bit of reflection, and you don't need to be an artist to get stuck in.
There's a bit more to it than just the making, though. The session is part of a week of workshops run by Imara, which sits alongside the charity's art auction. That auction raises funds for services supporting Nottingham children and young people affected by sexual and domestic abuse, so whatever you make on the afternoon is tied to a cause that hits close to home for a lot of people in the city.
It's open to all ages, so it works as a family thing as much as a solo one — just keep in mind that children under 13 need to be accompanied by an adult. All the materials are provided, so you can just turn up and start without worrying about bringing your own kit. It's a ninety-minute session, which gives you plenty of time to settle in and take your time with it.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nottingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

On the practical side, it's pay-what-you-can, with a recommended donation of £10. The Nottingham Society of Artists is at 71 Friar Lane, NG1 6DH, right in the city centre. It runs from 3:00 to 4:30pm on Tuesday 27 October, and there are no refunds.
