Stand-up show 'Nada', in which Ignacio Lopez builds his set live from the audience, at the Nottingham Arts Theatre.
Ignacio Lopez brings his new show, Nada, to Nottingham Arts Theatre on Sunday 25 October, running from 20:00 to 22:20. Billed as 'Spain's Best Export', Lopez is a half-Spanish, half-Welsh stand-up who builds his act around an upbringing split between Mallorca and South Wales.
Nada is the most ambitious project he's taken on so far. He describes it as a show he builds live in front of the audience out of nothing, drawing on the crowd's suggestions and everything he's learned on stage. Because of that, no two performances are the same and there's no safety net to fall back on. It's a bit of a gamble, and that's exactly the point.
Lopez has been a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2010, with a run of shows including Nine Ig Fails, EspañYOLO, El Cómico, Señor Self-Destruct and The Four Of Us Are Dying Up Here. Beyond the Fringe, he's appeared on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI and Richard Osman's House of Games. Critics have called him 'one of the more distinctive voices in British stand-up' and 'a comedic genius at work'.
