A revised ghost tour retracing the macabre history of the National Justice Museum's ancient gaol, with tales of imprisonment and execution.
Ghosts of the Gaol is back at The National Justice Museum this October, the museum's annual Halloween tour. It's a revised version for 2026, so even if you've done it before, there's new ground to cover. The tour runs for about 50 minutes, and you'll spend it retracing the steps of the people locked away in the gaol, taking in its macabre history of imprisonment and execution over the centuries.
Along the way, you'll hear eerie tales from staff and visitors, alongside the paranormal experiences reported within the ancient building. The museum has been voted one of the most haunted in the UK, and this is its Halloween tour, so it leans into that reputation. It's for ages 14 and over only, and under-18s have to be accompanied by an adult.
There are three dates to choose from: Saturday 17 October, Saturday 14 November and Saturday 21 November, with slots at 6pm and 7pm each night. A few of those have already gone — the 6pm on 17 October and the 6pm on 14 November are sold out, so if you're eyeing a particular evening, it's worth checking what's left. If you're coming with a larger group, private tours for more than ten people can be arranged through the museum's hospitality team.

Tickets are £16 full price and £15 for concessions. There's an arrival drink available too: red, white or rosé wine, bottled beer or cider for £5, and soft drinks for £4. The tour itself takes about 50 minutes, so if you're planning a full night out, you'll have plenty of time to head on elsewhere afterwards.
