Theatrical walking tour led by guide Ezekial Bone through the Robin Hood trail, from The Cross Keys to Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem.
The Robin Hood Town Tour is back on Saturday 31 October, starting at The Cross Keys pub on Byard Lane. It's a family history walk and town tour themed around the Robin Hood legend, and this one falls right in the middle of the city's Robin Hood celebrations, with Robin Hood Day on 29 October.
The whole thing is led by Ezekial Bone, who takes the role of the 'Living Legend' himself walking the outlaw trail. It's billed as a theatrical exploration of the legend told against the backdrop of Nottingham, and Bone carries the show as a cast of one—comedy, drama and action-adventure all in one go. Critics have called him a 'convincing personality' and the tour a 'mobile theatrical performance'.
You'll follow him past the Lace Market, the Old County Gaol, St Mary's Church, Broadway and Hockley, and then down into the Saxon caves beneath the streets. From there, the route takes you to the Robin Hood statue before ending at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, which is cited as the oldest pub in England. The tour has picked up plenty of awards and praise from the BBC, CBS News and ZDF TV.
