Live theatre performance in the museum's candlelit Victorian courtroom about the crimes, trials and executions of Nottingham's notorious murderers.
The Killer Chronicles comes to the National Justice Museum on Saturday 31 October, a one-night-only run of two performances. It's a live theatre show staged in the museum's Victorian Civil Courtroom, where you sit on the original wooden benches and watch the action unfold by candlelight. The whole thing runs about an hour, so it's a fairly compact evening.
The show brings to life the crimes, trials and final moments of the notorious murderers who passed through the museum's courts and gaol, and it does so through dramatic storytelling, music and song. It's set against the wider history of justice, punishment and execution in Nottingham, so the stories are tied to the very building you're sitting in. The courtroom itself is part of the experience, and the candlelit setting puts you right in the middle of it.
