Live gig by Melbourne band Delivery, whose debut EP 'Yes We Do' blends garage-rock and post-punk, at The Old Cold Store.
Delivery play The Old Cold Store on Sunday 1 November, a Sunday night gig over on Queen's Bridge Road. It's a single-act bill, so they're the only name on the poster for the evening.
There's a bit of a story to how they came together. Delivery formed during lockdown in Melbourne, Australia, and the band draws from a lineup that includes musicians from several other projects. That's a fair amount of ground to cover before they even get to the music: a band born in lockdown, half a world away, pulling together people from different bands. It's the kind of thing that usually takes a few years to settle into, but they've got their first release out now.
Their debut EP is called Yes We Do, and it's where you'll find the sound they're bringing to the stage. It sits at the intersection of garage rock and post-punk — the raw, stripped-back energy of the former meeting the sharper, more angular edges of the latter. If you're into that sort of thing, that's exactly what you'll be hearing. It's a good starting point for getting a feel for them before you head down.
