Third edition of JT Soar Fest, a curated one-stage showcase of post-punk, new/no wave, art pop and garage punk from around the world.
JT Soar Fest #3 takes over The Old Cold Store in Nottingham from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 1 November, presented by JT Soar and Coffee Beat. It's a one-stage, no-clashes showcase of post-punk, new wave, art pop and garage punk from around the world, and this third edition marks the 17th anniversary of JT Soar.
The line-up leans on the curator's own history. Mackenzies, dormant since the C86 era, return after 40 years with their debut LP, A Dog's Breakfast. A Certain Ratio, a standout of the early Factory Records scene, are still releasing music after 48 years. Glasgow's BIS sound as they did in 1994, and The Real Losers, whom The Cribs called 'the best band in Leeds' in the early 2000s, have their 2002 album Time To Lose repressed by Total Punk Records. The Cool Greenhouse, who made LPs with The Fall, play their first show in three years.
Beyond those, it's a wide-reaching bill. Delivery come from Melbourne, having won SXSW and toured with Franz Ferdinand. The rest of the line-up includes The Klittens (NLD), The Retail Simps (CAN), SAVAK (USA), EBBY (NLD), Water Machine, Nape Neck, Suep, The Real Losers, Dragged Up, UCD, The Chop, PICT, and a few surprises. There's also a free session on the Friday that opens to ticket holders.
