Halloween creative writing session for children aged 8 to 11 to write their own ghost story, guided by Waterstones staff.
Waterstones is running a Creepy Creative Writing session on Friday 23 October, one of the things they've got on for the October half term. It's aimed at children aged 8 to 11, and the whole thing is built around writing a ghost story from scratch.
It's a guided session rather than a free-for-all. Waterstones staff lead the way, talking through how to build a spooky story and helping the kids describe their ghosts and the settings they haunt. The idea is that each child comes away with a ghost story of their own, so if you've got a young writer at home who's into the macabre, this is exactly their sort of thing.
It's part of the shop's wider Halloween programming, so it fits right into the season. It's also listed among Nottingham City Council's education and family events for the half term, which puts it alongside the other things going on for kids across the city while school's out.
