Informal social prescribing cooking session for adults registered with a Rushcliffe GP, with no prior cooking experience needed.
Cook & Connect is back on Monday 23 November, 10:30 am, at the West Bridgford Young People's Centre in Nottingham. It's one of several sessions running through the autumn, with others on Monday 2 November — a Diwali-themed one — and Monday 9 November, all starting at 10:30 am. The venue is in West Bridgford, NG2 6AT, right next to the library, though the location can shift between West Bridgford and East Leake, so it's worth double-checking your specific date.
It's a social prescribing cooking session run by the Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Team as part of the Social Prescribing Community Hub, which is open most Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm. The hub is a bit of a creative hive on those mornings: Cook & Connect sits alongside other 'Let's Create Lounge' activities like willow weaving, mindful colouring and watercolours, so if you're in the mood for more than just cooking, there's plenty to pick from. The sessions are friendly and informal, aimed at adults aged 18 and over who are registered with a Rushcliffe GP surgery.
There's no previous cooking experience needed. The whole point is to learn new skills, try different dishes and enjoy preparing and sharing food in a relaxed environment, meeting the other cooks and picking up their recipes as you go. It's as much about the people as it is about the food.

Because it's a social prescribing session, you'll need to book in advance via Eventbrite. It runs from 10:30 am, and the West Bridgford Young People's Centre is just a stone's throw from West Bridgford Library.
