Diwali-themed cooking session with cumin rice, samosa swirls, chickpea curry and Indian sweets, for Rushcliffe residents aged 18+.
Cook & Connect returns to the West Bridgford Young People Centre on Monday 2 November, from 10 am to 12 pm, with a Diwali theme. It's part of the Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Service, which runs these sessions as part of the West Bridgford Social Prescribing Community Hub — a hub that puts on sessions and shares information on health, wellbeing and social connections.
The format is straightforward: you meet new people, get creative in the kitchen and make something delicious together. Each session starts with a live cooking or baking demonstration, where you can pick up new skills and a few handy tips along the way. It ends with everyone sitting down to eat what they've made.
This particular one is Diwali themed, so the menu is built around that. You'll be making cumin rice and samosa swirls, with chickpea curry and Indian sweets to enjoy alongside. It's a good spread to work through over the morning, and you get to eat it all when you're finished.
