Peer support group for Rushcliffe residents aged 18+ to explore their relationship with alcohol in a safe, judgement-free environment.
Next Steps is back at the West Bridgford Young People Centre on Monday 2 November, running from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. It's a peer support group run through the West Bridgford Social Prescribing Community Hub, which itself sits inside the wider Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Service. The session is led by an experienced Health Coach, and the whole thing is built around people exploring their relationship with alcohol in a safe, judgement-free environment.
If you've never been to a peer support group, the format is pretty straightforward: you're encouraged to share your own story, listen to others, pick up tools for managing challenges, and celebrate successes. It's a space for talking and listening rather than a formal class or a clinical appointment, so it's as much about the people in the room as it is about the tools you walk away with. The focus is on peer support, meaning you're among others who get it, and the Health Coach is there to keep things on track.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind before you book. The group is open exclusively to Rushcliffe residents aged 18 and over who are registered with a Rushcliffe GP, and bookings are limited to one per person. If you're in that boat, it's a free session, and it runs for an hour and fifteen minutes on a Monday lunchtime.
