Stand-up comedy show by Andy Bucks, presented by NCF Comedy, at Cock and Hoop.
Andy Bucks brings his stand-up to the Cock and Hoop on Saturday 7 November, presented by NCF Comedy. He describes his style as 'acid nerd', and the set pulls from a few odd places: the story of applying to The Apprentice, laughing cow cheese, the forceful removal of pubic hair, and hymns. It's the kind of mix that doesn't usually sit together in one hour, and that's where the 'nerd' part of the description comes in.
There's been some talk of who he sounds like. Critics have compared him to James Acaster, a likeness he quickly escapes with a voice entirely his own, and The Varsity has noted the resemblance too. If you're familiar with that particular brand of observational comedy, you'll recognise the territory, but the delivery is his own.
He's coming off a good run lately. He won Best Clean Joke at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2026 and picked up the BCG Pro Performance Award in 2025, and his work has been heard on BBC Radio 4. This is a solo show, so it's just him on stage for the full set.
