Adults-only double bill of puppet comedy by NCF Comedy, with Leon's Alien gameshow and the psychic show Slightly Psychic Cynthia.
NCF Comedy are bringing a double bill of puppet madness to the Cock and Hoop on Saturday 31 October, with two shows and an interlude in one night. It's billed as a night for adults who refuse to grow up, and the organisers do put out a fair warning: if you're puppet-phobic, this isn't the one for you. It's 16+, so it's not for the kids.
The first half is Leon's Alien Gameshow, which takes Leon's love of bingo and turns it into a room full of play. The audience plays along, a wheel of fate decides the prizes, and 'Alien erection hoopla' makes an appearance. Everyone walks away with a free badge, so you'll leave with something in your hand regardless of how the games go.
After a short interlude by Liz, the creator of this unhinged world, comes Slightly Psychic Cynthia. Cynthia is the performer's late grandmother, and she spends her time reading palms, minds, and anything else she can get her hands on. She's said to be remarkably wrong, which is where the comedy sits—the gap between what she claims to see and what's actually there. Between the two, you've got a gameshow and a psychic reading, both run by puppets.
