First solo stand-up show by German comedian Jürgen Strack, blending storytelling, character comedy and cultural observations.
Jürgen Strack brings his show Achtung! The Germans Are Coming to The Cock and Hoop on Friday 30 October, his first solo Nottingham date since his run at the Edinburgh Fringe. It's presented by NCF Comedy, and the show is for ages 18 and over.
Strack is a German comedian, and the set blends storytelling, character comedy and sharply observed cultural chaos. He describes it as part stand-up, part social experiment and part accidental philosophy lecture, all delivered with what he calls 'Jürgen logic' and energy. The material looks at what happens when precision meets honest foolishness, with tales of misunderstanding and over-interpretation at the centre.
Much of that comes from his own perspective: the peculiar logic of a man trying to make sense of Britain while insisting everything can be improved with structure, and unexpectedly large quantities of sauerkraut. It's that particular clash—the German eye for order meeting the messy reality of living here—that drives the comedy. If you've ever spent time trying to explain how things work to someone who thinks there's a more efficient way to do it, you'll recognise the territory.
