Stand-up warm-up show by comedian Alfie Moore, who is a former police officer, ahead of his BBC Radio 4 comedy 'It's a Fair Cop'.
Alfie Moore is playing a warm-up show at Canalhouse Bar on Monday 2 November, part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. It's a standalone night on the Main Stage, and the whole thing is a run-through for the recording of his BBC Radio 4 comedy, It's a Fair Cop.
If you haven't come across Moore before, the hook is right there in the title. He's a comedian whose act is built around his previous career as a police officer, so the stories he tells aren't made up for the stage — they're pulled straight from his time on the force. That background sits at the heart of everything he does, and it's what gives the set its particular edge.
The format of this one leans on the room. Before he gets into the stories, the audience is sworn in as cops, and from there Moore shares a real-life scenario from his own casebook and playfully challenges you to say what you would have done in his shoes. It's a bit different from your usual stand-up set, with the crowd playing a part rather than just watching from the dark.

It's a warm-up show, so it's a chance to hear the material being worked through before it's recorded for Radio 4. The night is for ages 14 and over. Tickets are £14, and the show starts at 7pm at Canalhouse Bar, 48-52 Canal Street, NG1 7EH.
