High-energy musical stage show for ages 3 and over, with original songs by Joe Stilgoe, bringing Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's story to the stage.
Zog and The Flying Doctors comes to Norwich Theatre Royal on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July 2027, as part of a tour that opens at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch and visits another 22 venues across the UK and Ireland. It's a stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's 2016 book, a sequel to Zog that's sold more than 5.5 million copies worldwide and picked up the Galaxy Book Award and the Oxfordshire Book Award. The story first made its way to the screen as an animated BBC One Christmas Day special in 2020, and this production follows a smash-hit tour back in 2024.
The show is presented by Freckle Productions in association with Rose Theatre, with original songs by Joe Stilgoe. It brings the book to life with the lovable dragon Zog, the fearless Princess Pearl and the trusty Sir Gadabout taking to the skies to help creatures big and small. Along the way they come across a disco-loving Unicorn, a sneezy Lion and a sunburnt Mermaid. Critics have described it as a high-energy show with vibrant music, and it's recommended for ages three and over.
