An evening of spoken word and live performance from TOAST Poetry, Norfolk's regular poetry night, recommended for ages 14 and over.
TOAST Poetry returns to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Sunday 24 January 2027, with a line-up of spoken word and live performance. It's an evening of poetry on stage, and as the name suggests, it's one of the biggest regular poetry nights in Norfolk. They stage shows across the county and beyond, bringing spoken word to adults and newcomers alike.
The night is pitched at everyone, whether you know your poetry inside out or haven't been near it since school. It can be hilarious one minute and unexpectedly deep the next, packed with big voices and big feelings. It's not just a one-off, either: alongside its adult programming, the organisation works with schools through its TOAST/ed tours and runs regular TOASTies Kid's Poetry Shows, so there's a whole ecosystem of spoken word happening around it.
One thing to keep in mind before you book: the show is recommended for ages 14 and over and may include some swearing, bad language and discussion of difficult themes. If you're bringing someone younger, that's a good detail to have on your radar.
