Musical courtroom comedy and murder mystery, a captioned performance recommended for ages 8 and over, following a filmmaker on trial for eggicide.
The Uncrackable Case plays at Norwich Theatre Royal on 23 and 24 April 2027, both nights starting at 7:00 pm. It's a musical that wears a few hats at once: part courtroom comedy, part murder mystery, and part musical fever dream. The show describes itself as the gloriously ridiculous lovechild of Shrek, Knives Out and Anatomy of a Fall, and that gives you a fair idea of the tone it's aiming for.
The story centres on Jill, a filmmaker on trial for eggicide. She's defended by B.B. Wolf, while Little Red is out for blood. It's a fairy-tale world turned on its head, and the courtroom isn't just for the legal drama — the production brings in tabloid media, conspiracy theorists and a fair few familiar fairy-tale faces along the way. It's a smash-hit Edinburgh Fringe run that's made its way to Norwich, so it arrives with a bit of a reputation behind it.
