Screening of the 18-minute short film strand 'The Recollection Collection' from the Norwich Film Festival, exploring memory, at Cinema City.
The Recollection Collection is showing at Cinema City on Friday 13 November, part of the Norwich Film Festival. It's a thematic strand of short films that asks whether memory has a name or is a place, and it gathers recollections of lands left behind, relationships lost, languages displaced and dances that used to be, retracing the imprints of the past to show how they shape who we've become.
Seven films make up the programme: August 31st, 1997, DIRT, Homecoming and Going, Jasmine. Home. Mother., Prisoner, The Dead Sing for the Living and The Romantics. The whole session runs for 18 minutes, so you're getting seven different perspectives on memory in one sitting rather than a single long feature. It's rated 18, and there are no adverts or trailers before the screening, so it starts and finishes without the usual cinema padding.

Cinema City is Norwich's three-screen cinema, housed in the 17th-century Suckling House, a building of vaulted ceilings, stone arches and antique panelled rooms. Its bar and kitchen, The Dining Rooms, serve in-house food alongside wines, draught and craft beers, ciders and premium spirits, which makes it easy to turn a matinee into a longer afternoon if you fancy staying on. The session starts at 14:45, and tickets are £8 or £6.
