Family-friendly screening of short films from the Norwich Film Festival 2026, with a bill of eight shorts for young and young-at-heart cinephiles.
Cinema City is hosting the Family Friendly Shorts on Saturday 7 November, as part of the Norwich Film Festival 2026. It's a session aimed at young and young-at-heart cinephiles, and it's one of the festival's themed screenings this year.
The bill runs from heartwarming tales of belonging to madcap adventures, and there are eight shorts in total: A Clayful Adventure, A Game of Chance, Calamity Wayne (set in 1966), Festival of Beasts, Friend of Mine, Glowberry, Into the forest and The Sky Was Candy. It's a good mix to take kids along to, with the variety of stories meaning there's something for different ages to get stuck into.
To give you a bit of context, this is part of a much larger programme. The festival has curated 136 shortlisted films into 21 themed screenings at Cinema City between 6 and 15 November, covering comedy, sci-fi, documentary, animation, LGBTQ+, women in film and East Anglian talent, alongside the festival's Mix Tape collections. This session is the family-focused one, so it's a good place to start if you're bringing the younger ones along.

There are no adverts or trailers before the screening, so you'll get straight into the films. Seating is unallocated, and if you need a wheelchair space, you'll need to contact the cinema directly to arrange one. Tickets are £8, £6 and £5, and they're recommended in advance online or at the Cinema City box office, though they may be available on the door if the screening hasn't sold out. It starts at 13:00.
