The Brain Bending Science Illusion Show

The Magical Mr West is back at Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Thursday 18 February 2027, with The Brain Bending Science Illusion Show. It's his second family science show, following Adventures in Science, and he's not alone this time — his corvid companion Crowbert is on stage with him.

The show takes you into the world of science illusions, with impossible optical illusions, baffling tricks you can try at home and wily wordplay. The Stage called it 'entertaining and entrancing', and Primary Times described it as 'pure magic comedy'. It runs for about an hour and is recommended for ages 6 and over, so it's one that works for the younger ones without being too babyish.

It's staged as part of the Norwich Science Festival 2027, which brings a fair few names to the theatre over the course of the festival. Among them is astronaut Helen Sharman, who'll be talking about what it's really like to travel beyond Earth. If you're planning a day of it, you could easily fit Mr West in and then catch her too.

There are two performances on the day, one at 11:30 am and another at 2:00 pm, so you can pick the one that fits your schedule. Tickets start from £15.
