Screening of surreal short films, rated 18, in the Something Completely Different strand of the Norwich Film Festival.
Something Completely Different returns to Cinema City on Friday 13 November, part of the Norwich Film Festival's 2026 short film programme. It's a strand the festival describes as an audience favourite, now back for its fifth year and aimed at lovers of the weird and wonderful, with surreal stories, unique perspectives and unexpected journeys. The session is rated 18 and runs for 18 minutes, with no adverts or trailers before the screening and unallocated seating.
The line-up brings together six shorts: Lacrimosa, My Wife Doesn't Move Anymore, Strangle, The Coronation, To feel something at least and When I Was Little, I Wasn't Afraid. It's a tight, fast-moving session, and the 18 certificate means it's geared towards an adult crowd rather than a general family audience.
It's one of 21 themed screenings the festival is running at Cinema City between 6 and 15 November, which together curate 136 shortlisted films. Many of those sessions are followed by filmmaker Q&As, so if you're into the making of the things as well as the films themselves, there's plenty more to pick from across the ten days. New this year is the East Anglian Student Showcase + Q&A, which puts the work of student filmmakers from educational organisations across East Anglia on the big screen.
