A screening of science fiction short films, including 'Gossamer', 'Mimic' and 'We Dream In Colour', at Cinema City during the Norwich Film Festival.
Sci-Fi Stories screens at Cinema City on Sunday 8 November, from 13:00 to 14:30. It's a collection of sci-fi shorts, and the line-up includes Gossamer, Mimic, Please and Thank You, Strive, Waking and We Dream In Colour.
The screening is part of the Norwich Film Festival, which runs from 6 to 15 November. This year the festival curated 136 shortlisted shorts into 20 themed screenings across comedy, sci-fi, documentary and animation, with separate strands for LGBTQ+, women in film, East Anglian talent and family-friendly titles. Sci-Fi Stories is one of those themed sessions, so it's a good way to see a handful of shorts in one go rather than hunting through the whole festival programme.
Founded in 2009, the festival is a BAFTA and BIFA qualifier that showcases work from local, national and international independent and mainstream filmmakers. It's launched films that went on to win BAFTAs and Oscars, as well as awards at Sundance, Tribeca and South by Southwest. Its patrons include Olivia Colman, Stephen Fry, Julian Jarrold, Tim McInnerny, Brian Cox and John Cleese, and it runs a Creative Futures programme to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.

Tickets are £8, or £6 for concessions. There are no adverts or trailers before the screening, seating is unallocated and wheelchair spaces are limited, so if you need one it's worth getting in early. The session runs from 13:00 to 14:30 at Cinema City in the Norwich Lanes.
