An 18-rated screening of short films celebrating the culture, landscapes and creativity of East Anglia, part of the Norwich Film Festival 2026 programme.
East Anglian Shorts is back at Cinema City on Sunday 8 November, as part of the Norwich Film Festival's 2026 programme. It's a showcase of short films from across the region, putting together stories and filmmakers from East Anglia in one session. The festival itself has been running since 2009 and is a BAFTA and BIFA qualifier, screening work from local, national and international independent and mainstream filmmakers. It's run by a registered charity and counts Olivia Colman, Stephen Fry, Julian Jarrold, Tim McInnerny, Brian Cox and John Cleese among its patrons.
This particular screening is one of 21 themed sessions running between 6 and 15 November, which together shortlist 136 films. The festival also runs a new East Anglian Student Showcase strand this year. The line-up for this session draws on regional stories: Bruised Sky is set in 1970s Essex; Gilbert & George Daytripping Forever! follows the artists on a day trip to Southend-on-Sea; and Good Choice, Joseph rounds them out. It's a session rated 18, and there are no adverts or trailers before the films start, so you'll go straight into the programme. Seating is unallocated, so it's first come, first served.
