Brazilian contemporary dance company São Paulo Dance Company brings its second UK tour to Norwich Theatre Royal, with a post-show Q&A and touch tour.
São Paulo Dance Company are coming to Norwich Theatre Royal on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 March 2027, both nights starting at 7:30pm. It's their second UK tour, and Norwich is one of 13 venues on a Dance Consortium circuit that opens at Dublin's Bord Gáis Theatre on 1 February and runs until 27 March, with three performances at London's Sadler's Wells. The company made its UK debut in 2024, so this is a return to these shores rather than a first visit.
Founded in 2008, São Paulo Dance Company is Brazil's leading dance company, and it's built its name on a repertoire where classical technique meets contemporary innovation, all driven by a powerful Latin pulse. The dancers are known for their technical brilliance and vibrant personalities, and the critics have been generous: they've called the company 'red hot entertainment', 'sizzling hot' and 'the best thing to come from Brazil since Pele'.
The tour is put together by Dance Consortium, a network of 24 large-scale venues that brings contemporary dance from around the world to local audiences. They've been doing it since 2000, and this Brazilian company is the latest to come through their circuit. For the Norwich dates, there's a bit more on than just the show: the Tuesday night includes a post-show Q&A, and the Wednesday has a touch tour.
