Screening of the short film strand Right Here, Right Now, with political satire and explorations of modern life, at the Norwich Film Festival.
Right Here, Right Now screens at Cinema City on Friday 13 November, part of the Norwich Film Festival 2026. It's a brand-new strand for this year, and the title sets the tone: it keeps the fragile modern world and our lives within it in focus, with humorous explorations of the gig economy, our relationship with technology and political satire. The session runs 90 minutes, carries an 18 certificate and has no adverts or trailers before the screening, so you get straight to the films.
The line-up brings together six shorts: PHANTOM CAROUSEL, VOTE GAVIN LYLE, Gobbl, Pigeonman, Depersonalisation Station and He Woke Up To Deflating News. Between them they cover the ground the strand is built on — the precariousness of modern work, the way we lean on our devices, and the political satire that runs through the whole thing.
It's one of 21 themed screenings that make up the Norwich Film Festival 2026 Short Film Programme, which runs from 6 to 15 November and screens 136 shortlisted short films. The festival also includes filmmaker Q&As and new Short Film Screening Bundles, so if you're into shorts, there's plenty more on around the city during those ten days.

Cinema City is Picturehouse's three-screen Norwich cinema, and it brings its own history to the night: the courtyard and the Dining Rooms bar and kitchen sit inside the 17th-century Suckling House, all vaulted ceilings, stone arches and antique panelled rooms. Seating is unallocated, and limited wheelchair spaces are available by contacting the cinema directly. The screening starts at 19:00, and tickets are £8, or £6 for concessions.
