Relaxed screening of the family film Paddington at The Forum, with kids going free on a paying adult's ticket.
Paddington is coming to The Auditorium at The Forum on Saturday 19 December, from 1:30pm to 3pm. It's a relaxed screening of the 2014 family film, and it's part of a wider series of kids-go-free screenings The Forum runs every year. This one sits alongside Home Alone (1990) and Elf (2003), so there are three different family films to choose from across the run. Places are limited, so it's worth getting your tickets sorted sooner rather than later.
If you're not familiar with the relaxed format, it's designed to be a bit more laid-back than a standard cinema trip, making it a good shout if you're heading out with younger children or anyone who might find a typical screening a bit much. The film itself is the 2014 version of Paddington, the one that introduced the polite, marmalade-loving bear to a new generation, so it's a safe bet for a family afternoon.
The screening falls right in the middle of The Forum's festive programme, which is one of its busiest times of the year. Around the same time, the venue hosts the Festive Fair, the city's official Christmas Light Switch-On, and the Christmas Tree. The Gallopers also return — the carousel of hand-painted horses built by Frederick Savage of Kings Lynn in the late 19th century, which is a bit of a local fixture during the season. If you're in town for the film, there's plenty more going on nearby.
