Free Halloween trail in which visitors knock on different doors around White Lion Square to find surprises, treats and prizes for families.
Knock Knock Halloween runs at White Lion Square from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 October, with the square transformed into a mysterious Halloween neighbourhood for the half-term break. It's held inside Castle Quarter, on the lower ground floor just outside Boots, so it's tucked away from the wind and rain rather than out on the street.
The whole thing is built around a simple, old-school game: the square is filled with front doors, and each one hides something different. You pick a door, give it a knock, and see what's waiting on the other side. The prizes and treats vary from door to door, and there are plenty of silly surprises mixed in, so it's more about the curiosity of what's behind the next one than any particular goal. It's the kind of thing that works well with kids who love a bit of mystery and a lot of knocking.
Castle Quarter describes it as being pitched at the right level of scary, aiming for more giggles than screams. It's part of a wider programme of free or affordable family activities they're running across the school holidays, so it's designed for families with younger children rather than a full-on horror experience. If you're taking little ones, that's a useful thing to keep in mind.

The event is run in support of The Hamlet, a local charity that supports children, young people and adults with disabilities and complex health needs across Norwich and Norfolk. It's free to attend, but donations to The Hamlet are very welcome, so you can chip in while you're there. It runs daily from 11am to 3pm across the three days, from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 October, at White Lion Square in Castle Quarter.
