Northern Ballet Revealed - Cinderella

Northern Ballet are opening up their rehearsal process at Norwich Theatre on Thursday 19 November, in the Meeting Room rather than the main stage. It's part of their Northern Ballet Revealed series, which trades the auditorium for the studio so you can watch the company dancers work through their daily onstage class as they warm up for a performance. Instead of seeing the finished product from a seat in the dark, you're in the room with them while they're still getting into it.

This particular session is timed to the company's autumn 2026 tour of Cinderella, choreographed by Michael Pink and set to Prokofiev's score, which will be played live. The whole thing is presented by Pippa Moore MBE, a former Northern Ballet Premier Dancer, so you've got someone who's actually stood in those shoes walking you through what's happening. She'll be talking through what goes into bringing a ballet to the stage, and there's a close look at the costumes too, which is the kind of detail you usually only catch a glimpse of from the stalls.

It's a bit of a peek behind the curtain at how a professional touring company actually operates day-to-day. You'll see the dancers in their daily onstage ballet class, the same routine they use to get ready before a show, and the session is built around the Cinderella production they're touring across the country this autumn. It's less about the performance and more about the work that happens before the curtain even goes up.

The session runs from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm in the Meeting Room at Norwich Theatre, Theatre Street, Norwich NR2 1RL. Tickets are £7.50, and it's recommended for ages 18 and over. It's already sold out, so you'll have to keep an eye on the venue's listings for the next one.
