A 14-piece orchestra and live singers reimagining 90s slow jams, neo-soul classics and modern R&B favourites in a standing-only 18+ show.
R&B Orchestra Live comes to The Halls on Saturday 28 November, a night built around a 14-piece orchestra and live singers reimagining R&B. The set runs from 90s slow jams and neo-soul classics to more recent favourites, with names like Usher, Alicia Keys, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Brandy and Ne-Yo on the list. The orchestra and singers grew up on the records they're covering, and they rework the songs with soaring strings, bold brass and cinematic arrangements.
The venue is The Halls on St Andrew's Plain, a Grade I listed former medieval friary dating back to the 14th century and one of the UK's most complete medieval friary complexes. It's a standing-only show, so there's no seating to be had. The performance is strictly 18+.
