Free day festival with organic growers, street food, makers, live demos and workshops on regenerative and organic food production.
The Norfolk Biodiversity & Regenerative Food Festival is back in Chapelfield Gardens on Sunday 18 October, from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. It's a free day out in the city centre, and it returns to Norwich each October as a celebration of the growers, producers and organisations building a regenerative local food system and a wilder, more nature-filled region.
There will be up to 50 regenerative and organic growers, producers, bakers, makers, street food vendors, fermenters and artisans on site, with the Norfolk Organic Group (NOG) seed stall returning. The day is built around a few clear areas of focus: regenerative and agroecological food production, nature and landscape regeneration, organic gardening and heritage seeds, sustainable and natural fibres, fermented and preserved foods and local artisanal crafts. It's a showcase of nature-positive practices, bringing together growers and makers alongside charities and community groups championing wildlife and landscape restoration, with live demos and interactive workshops running throughout.
Regenerative Foods is the organisation behind it, and they describe their mission as building a food system that restores the UK's biodiversity and protects the climate. Busy Lizzie Sourdough is the event sponsor this year. If you've been following the local food scene, you'll recognise the names and the focus on soil health and biodiversity that the festival centres on.
