Barry White tribute show from the USA, with vocalist William Hicks, the Soul Unlimited live band and the Supreme Dreamgirls.
William Hicks brings Let The Music Play: A Celebration of Barry White to The Halls on Friday 2 April, with the Soul Unlimited live band and the Supreme Dreamgirls on support. It's billed as the only UK touring show dedicated to Barry White, and it comes direct from the USA.
At the front is Hicks, an Atlanta, Georgia vocalist known as 'the big man with the big voice'. His silky-smooth bass-baritone and stage presence are built around recreating the style of the three-time Grammy Award winner, and the show works its way through many of White's million-selling hits. You'll hear You're the First, the Last, My Everything, Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe, Just the Way You Are and Let the Music Play.
It's a critically acclaimed revue, and the evening doesn't stop at White's catalogue — it takes in a wider celebration of Motown and Soul, so the set reaches beyond a single artist. The Soul Unlimited live band provides the backing, and the Supreme Dreamgirls open the night. Between the two, the show covers a good stretch of the Motown and Soul sound that White helped define.
