Free drop-in festival of nature and creativity with more than 70 interactive stalls, a maker's market, family activities, guided walks and expert talks from the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
Wild by Design takes over The Halls on Saturday 21 November, a free, drop-in festival of nature and creativity put on by Norfolk Wildlife Trust alongside artists, designers and conservationists. It's part of the Trust's centenary celebrations, looking back at a century of conservation while imagining the wild future ahead.
The day fills The Halls with more than 70 interactive stalls, a maker's market, family activities like pond dipping and wild crafts, guided walks and expert talks, and wildlife-inspired video games designed by students. There's an art exhibition curated by Norwich University of the Arts and a live collaborative artwork by artist Alice Lee. It's a drop-in, so you can wander through at your own pace rather than sticking to a set schedule.
The Trust's wider conservation work underpins the whole thing. Beavers were returned to Norfolk from Scotland in 2021 after more than 400 years away, and ospreys bred in the county in 2025 for the first time in over 250 years, at NWT Ranworth Broad. Those are the kinds of stories that sit behind the stalls and the talks.
