Author John Lanchester talks about his novel 'Look What You Made Me Do' in a UEA Live conversation chaired by Giles Foden.
John Lanchester is coming to the UEA Drama Studio on Tuesday 1 December, where he'll be talking about his latest novel, Look What You Made Me Do. It's a black comedy of resentment and entitlement that follows two very different women from different generations heading towards a battle only one of them can win. If that sounds like your kind of thing, it's a good one to have on the radar.
Lanchester is an acclaimed journalist and novelist, and you might know him from Capital or The Wall. This latest one, Look What You Made Me Do, sits in that darker, satirical territory he does so well, and the evening is built around it. He'll be in conversation with Giles Foden, who's an author himself and a Professor of Creative Writing at UEA, so it's a writer-on-writer chat rather than a standard Q&A.
The talk is part of UEA Live, the university's public events and engagement programme, which brings a fair few writers and thinkers into the city throughout the year. It's held at the Drama Studio on the UEA campus, so you're right in the heart of the university's creative writing scene. If you've read his previous work, it's a chance to hear him talk through the new book; if you haven't, it's a decent way to get a feel for his writing.
