Free illuminated 45-minute cycle through the city centre, part of Cycling UK's 'My Ride Our Right' campaign, with an afterparty at St Saviours Yard.
Glow Ride is coming to City Hall on Thursday 22 October, a 45-minute illuminated cycle through Norwich city centre. It's part of Cycling UK's My Ride Our Right national campaign, which focuses on women's experiences of cycling and the barriers that can make people feel unsafe or unwelcome on the streets, especially after dark, and calls for safer streets and better cycle routes. The ride is guided by an experienced ride leader and supported by marshals, with a relaxed pace so everyone can ride together.
It's run by a group of Norwich cycling organisations working to make cycling more inclusive and accessible. That includes Bicycle Links, a charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum; Women's Cycling Safety Audit Norwich, a community-led project exploring the safety experiences of women and gender-diverse cyclists; Boudicca Bikers; Kidical Mass Norwich; Critical Mass Norwich; and the Norwich Bicycle Repair Cooperative. Every cycle is welcome, from adapted bikes and tricycles to e-bikes and cargo bikes, and children and pets are encouraged to come along with an accompanying adult.
