Gentleman's Dub Club play Epic Studios in Norwich on their 20th Anniversary Tour, bridging roots reggae and modern bass music.
Gentleman's Dub Club are at Epic Studios on Friday 30 October, part of their 20th Anniversary Tour. They're the only act on the bill, and the night starts at 7:00pm.
It's a bit of a milestone for them. The band formed in Leeds back in early 2006, starting as an eight-piece rehearsing in a Headingley basement before they grew into an internationally touring outfit. They've spent the last two decades at the forefront of the UK's dub and reggae scene, rooted in sound system culture and taking their early cues from the Iration Steppas and the long-running SubDub nights in Leeds. That sound system background is still there: the live show bridges traditional roots reggae and modern bass music, and they're heading into 2026 with their core line-up largely intact.
They've had plenty of support from the country's reggae tastemakers over the years. David Rodigan MBE called them 'one of the most energetic and exciting live bands in the country,' and their music has been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra by Don Letts, Huw Stephens and Mistajam. Since their debut EP Members Only in 2009 and their breakthrough album FOURtyFOUR in 2013, they've kept up one of the industry's most rigorous touring schedules, releasing eight studio albums mostly through Easy Star Records and playing Glastonbury, Outlook Festival, Boomtown Fair, Boardmasters and Rototom.
