Two days of free, drop-in drawing, play and storytelling for children and young people to illustrate a giant 3D enchanted forest and make boats for the River Wensum.
Family Imagination Days: The Big River Draw takes over Dragon Hall on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October, two days of free, drop-in drawing, play and storytelling for children and young people. It's part of The Big Draw, the world's largest drawing festival, and runs in partnership with the National Centre for Writing.
The main thing to do is help illustrate a giant, folklore-inspired 3D enchanted forest, with the River Wensum running through its heart. It's a collective project, so the more people who get involved, the bigger the forest grows. Alongside that, you can make and decorate your own boats and wishes to float downstream past the dragon's lair. It's all about drawing and making, and it's set up so you can just turn up and get stuck in.
Because it's a drop-in, there's no booking needed. You can come and go as you like, which makes it easy to fit around a half-term day. It's free to take part, so you don't have to worry about tickets or queues. If you've got a few hours to spare on either day, you can just wander in and spend as much or as little time as you want.
