Book presentation of 'Hag' by authors Irenosen Okojie and Emma Glass, followed by book sales and signings, at the National Centre for Writing.
Irenosen Okojie and Emma Glass are coming to Dragon Hall on Thursday 29 October, part of the Norwich Book Festival. They'll be talking about Hag, a collection of dark feminist fables that draws on magic, mermaids and the monsters that haunt the isles. One reviewer called it 'a thoroughly original package that has a hint of Angela Carter', which gives you a fair idea of the territory they're in.
Okojie is an award-winning Nigerian British author. Her novels Curandera and Butterfly Fish and her short story collections Speak Gigantular and Nudibranch have won and been nominated for multiple awards, and she was awarded an MBE for Services to Literature in 2021. She's also the director and founder of the Black to the Future Festival. Glass is a children's nurse based in London; she published her debut novel Peach in 2018 and her third, Mrs Jekyll, in 2024. The conversation will be chaired by Sarvat Hasin, a novelist and dramaturg from Pakistan.
