Festive screening of 'Elf' (2003) at The Forum, with kids going free when accompanied by a paying adult.
The Forum is bringing back its kids-go-free film screenings this winter, and the first one on the list is Elf (2003). It's showing in The Auditorium on Wednesday 23 December, from 5.30pm to 7.10pm — a mid-week slot that works well if you've got the little ones home from school and want to get the Christmas spirit in before the big day. The screening is part of a wider festive programme at the venue, which includes the Festive Fair, one of its biggest events of the year, the city's official Christmas Light Switch-On, and the Christmas Tree. Outside, the historic 'Gallopers' carousel, built by Frederick Savage of Kings Lynn in the late 19th century, will be out with each horse hand-painted and named.
Elf is the first of four kids-go-free screenings the Forum is running this year, with three family films in total. The whole thing comes back by popular demand, so it's a return of a format that's worked well here before. The session sits right in the middle of the venue's Christmas activity, so it's easy to make a proper afternoon of it — maybe a wander around the fair or a look at the lights before heading into the cinema.
