Screening of seven short films by student filmmakers from East Anglian educational organisations, followed by a Q&A, at Cinema City.
Cinema City is hosting the East Anglian Student Showcase on Sunday 8 November, a new addition to the Norwich Film Festival this year. It's a screening of seven short films made by student filmmakers from educational organisations across East Anglia, and it's followed by a Q&A with the makers. The films cover narrative fiction, documentary and animation, so the half-hour or so you'll spend on each one will take you through a fair few different styles in one sitting.
The seven films on the bill are Bad Habit, Ember Notes, In the hands of time, Monster, Pearl and Pomegranate, Taking A Chance and The Six Seconds. The showcase is one of seven award categories at NFF2026, alongside British, International, Animation, Documentary, Student and East Anglian. The wider short film programme brings 136 shortlisted films curated into 20 themed screenings at Cinema City from 6-15 November, and the festival's Award Winners Showcase on 15 November will screen the seven best films across the categories.
