Screening of 18 documentary short films from the Norwich Film Festival 2026, followed by a panel and Q&A with selected filmmakers.
Cinema City is hosting a documentary shorts night on Wednesday 11 November, part of the Norwich Film Festival 2026. It's a long one — 18 documentary shorts in a single sitting, running for 135 minutes, and it's rated 18, so it's definitely an evening for adults rather than a family outing.
Among the titles on the bill are Among the Smoke, Apocalypse, Body of Our Own by Rahemur Rahman and Lily Vetch, Crunch Point, Now That's What I Call Dock Pudding and Stopped. When the films finish, the night doesn't just end there: a panel and Q&A with selected filmmakers follow, so you'll get to hear from some of the people behind the work you've just watched.
It's one of 21 themed screenings the festival has put together at Cinema City between 6 and 15 November, drawn from a shortlist of 136 short films. The documentary night sits alongside sessions for comedy, sci-fi, animation, LGBTQ+, women in film, East Anglian talent and family-friendly titles, as well as the Mix Tape collections. Many of those screenings also end with filmmaker Q&As, and there are short film screening bundles this year if you're planning to catch more than one.

The whole thing builds to the Award Winners Showcase on 15 November, which screens the seven winners from across the festival's categories: British, International, Animation, Documentary, Student, East Anglian and East Anglian Student. The documentary shorts night starts at 18:00 at Cinema City on Saint Andrews Street, with tickets at £8 or £6.
