Taster dance and movement session for people aged 60 and over, led by Rosa Kentwood, as part of Norwich Theatre's Creative Ageing programme.
Norwich Theatre is launching a new programme of Creative Ageing work, and the first session is a Dance Lab taster for people aged 60 and over. It runs on Monday 14 December, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in Stage Two, Studio 2.
The whole thing is led by Rosa Kentwood, an experienced dance practitioner, and it's designed for anyone over 60 who wants to pick up some new dance and movement skills in a supportive, accessible format. The session builds strength and mobility while working on technique, creativity and musicality, and it does that through improvisation, physical exercises and choreographic skills. The aim they're working towards is wellbeing, so it's more about how you feel and move than about getting a performance right.
Because it's a taster session, it's a good way to see what the new Creative Ageing programme is all about without committing to a full course first. If you've never danced before or haven't done it in years, that's fine — the whole point is to pick things up as you go. It's an hour's session, so it's a low-pressure way to get moving and see if it's for you.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Norwich and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

On the practical side, it's a pay-what-you-can setup, with suggested amounts of £0, £4, £8 or £10, so you can pay what you're comfortable with. There are also bursary spaces available if you need one. That puts it on Monday 14 December, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Stage Two, Studio 2, Norwich Theatre.
